Reviews of the PEPR AI Days 2026

From June 22 to 24, 2026, the Convent des Jacobins in Rennes hosted the 2026 edition of the PEPR IA Days, the annual event of the PEPR IA.
Each year, the PEPR AI, funded by France 2030 and co-led by the CEA, the CNRS, and Inria, pursues a bold ambition: to make AI research a driver of sovereignty, innovation, and societal impact.
For this second edition, the PEPR IA chose to bring together the entire AI community for three days. With an average of 170 attendees per day, researchers, industry representatives, and funders were able to discuss recent advances and the opportunities offered by the program.
- Feedback on the program for these three days of events:
- Enriching keynotes on AI and physics, decentralized machine learning models, and inertial algorithms
- A presentation of the eight new PEPR projects resulting from the “Mathematics of Deep Learning” Call for Projects
- Scientific advances from the 9 targeted projects supported in the areas of trust, frugality, embedded systems, and new mathematical foundations
- Presentations on the scientific and technological challenges of AI for the industrial sector
- A poster competition for PhD students from PEPR projects (posters are available with the presentations)
- A PhD Forum for doctoral students to foster discussion and identify potential new cross-project collaborations
- A joint session with the SequoIA cluster on the theme of “AI and Security”

DIADEM Materials Discovery Grand Challenge
The CAUSALI-T-AI project of the PEPR IA and the PEPR DIADEM are collaborating to create the DIADEM Materials Discovery Grand Challenge, which will be launched on October 17, 2025, in Grenoble.

Winter School on Causality and Explainable AI
The CAUSALI-T-AI project of the PEPR IA is organizing a Franco-German school from October 20 to 24 at the Sorbonne Cluster for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) in Jussieu, Paris.
